Streams under General Skilled Migration Visa
Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)
Through this visa type, the applicant will be eligible to apply for permanent residency and also will be able to nominate their eligible relatives for permanent residency. Moreover, the applicants will be able to work or study in any part of Australia while having this visa.
Eligibility criteria required:
- Should have an occupation that is being listed in the skilled occupation list.
- Have conducted the skill assessment for the occupation.
- Must be invited to apply for this visa.
- Must have a satisfactory level of points from the points test.
- Must be under 45 years of age.
Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
Through this visa also, the applicant can apply for permanent residency and will be able to nominate their relatives who are eligible for permanent residency. The applicant can work or study anywhere in the nominated state in Australia.
Eligibility criteria required:
- Should have an occupation that is listed in the skilled occupation list.
- Have conducted the skill assessment for the occupation.
- Must be invited to apply for this visa.
- Must have a satisfactory level of English language competency.
- Must be under 45 years of age.
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 491)
This visa is valid only for up to 5 years. The applicant will be eligible to apply for permanent residency after 03 years from the time his/ her visa is granted. The applicant can live, work or study only in a designated regional area in Australia. Yet, the applicants can travel back and forth anytime during their stay of 05 years.
Eligibility criteria required:
- applicant must be nominated by the state, territory government agency, or by an eligible relative.
- Must have an occupation that is listed on the nominated skill occupation list.
- Must have completed the skill assessment which is required for the occupation.
- Must be invited to apply.
- Must have a satisfactory level of points from the points test.
- Must be under 45 years of age.
